How Does Billing Work at DartNode?

At DartNode, we believe in transparent and fair billing ๐Ÿ’ผ. That’s why we use a prorated monthly billing system to align all customers on the same cycle. Here’s how it works:

๐Ÿ“… Monthly Billing Cycle

All services at DartNode follow a calendar-month billing cycle.

  • Invoices are generated and due on the 1st of each month.
  • Whether you sign up on the 1st or the 29th, your next full invoice is always due on the 1st of the upcoming month.

๐Ÿ›’ What Happens When You Purchase a Service?

When you buy a service (like a VPS, dedicated server, or add-on), you’ll be charged the full monthly rate upfront.

But don’t worry — you won’t overpay. We make sure you’re credited for any unused time.

๐Ÿ’ก Proration Credit Explained

If you sign up mid-month, we automatically apply a proration credit to your account based on the unused days in the month.

๐Ÿงฎ Example:

You purchase a VPS on July 20th for $40/month:

  • You’re charged $40 upfront
  • DartNode calculates you only used about โ…“ of the month
  • You receive a $26.67 credit on your account
  • On August 1st, your $40 invoice is reduced by that credit โœ…

๐Ÿ”„ What Can You Use Proration Credit For?

Proration credits are automatically applied and can be used for:

  • โœ… Your next monthly renewal
  • โœ… New service purchases
  • โœ… Upgrades or add-ons

โ“ Common Questions

Q: Why not just charge a prorated amount instead?
A: We bill the full month to enable faster provisioning and cleaner accounting. You’re only ever paying for what you use — the rest is credited back.

Q: Can I withdraw my credit as cash?
A: No — credits are non-refundable and must be used on DartNode services.

๐Ÿงพ Billing Timeline

  • ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Invoices are generated 10 days before the end of the month
  • ๐Ÿ’ณ Invoices are due on the 1st of the following month

  • โ›” Services are terminated if payment is not received within 10 days past due

๐Ÿค Grace Periods & Payment Extensions

If you’re having trouble paying your invoice, we’re happy to help. We offer courtesy grace periods on a case-by-case basis.

๐Ÿ“Œ Please note: A $35 grace fee will be added to your invoice if an extension is approved.

We highly recommend contacting support before your service becomes overdue to avoid suspension or termination.
