How to Set Up Reverse DNS (PTR Records).
Here's how you typically set up rDNS (Reverse DNS) on a DartNode Server:
- Access Your DartNode Control Panel/Dashboard: You need to log in to your client area on the DartNode website.
- Look for and click on the "Network" tab.
- Within the Network section, find and select the "Reverse DNS" option.
- Identify Your IP Address: In this section, you should see a list of IP addresses assigned to your services.
- Enter the PTR Record (Hostname): For the specific IP address you want to configure, there should be an input field where you can enter the desired hostname (e.g.,
mail.yourdomain.com
). This hostname is what the IP address will resolve to during a reverse DNS lookup. - Save/Apply Changes: After entering the hostname, there will usually be a "Save," "Update," or "Reload PTR" button to apply the changes.
